Forget the Barcode Battler, Questron was where it was at. Someone is selling NOS on eBay for £7 so I had to add one to the retro shop 🦓

This is an interesting #Amiga find today. A500 with a mechanical chicken lips keyboard and moulded C= logo. Red power light and seems to be a Rev3 PCB. It’s dead but well worth saving!

Mystery #MicroProse Disks, what are they? Where did they come from? What do they tell us about MicroProse here in the UK?
Join me on a tour of The Cotswolds as we try to figure it all out.

Here in the UK you were not permitted to own an Amstrad CPC unless you could operate it while being stared down by Dickie Mould. This young man passed the test. Many failed.

Sometimes it’s nice to put the camera down and get a job done you’ve been putting off for ages. This afternoon I dug out the offcuts from when we built the retro shop and made more shelves. The lighting makes it look like the door to hell but it’s more subtle IRL! Job done 🛠️

Here’s a fun letter from 1994 in which G Carter writes to Microprose with a game idea which involves reducing F1GP to a driving test around town.
Microprose reply in the politest possible way.
With a little more violence thrown in G Carter may have hit on Carmageddon!

So pleased to add this to the collection. In 1990 I bought it with a 512kb trapdoor expansion for my Amiga to run it. I could never afford to play the arcade and spent ages just watching the attract loop. I know it’s not the best but my nostalgia doesn’t care for playability 😂

What’s the story with this Commodore PC20? Is that a paint job or a vinyl wrap finish on the case?
Whatever it is the answer is going to be C= cost cutting isn’t it 🤷♂️
